Privacy
Silver Current Press is a small, single-proprietor literary publisher operated by James Mulhern in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain terms, what information this website collects, how it is used, and the rights you hold over it. The press collects as little as possible; the press shares less.
1. Who operates this site
Silver Current Press, a fictitious name registered (or being registered) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to James Mulhern, an individual proprietor. For privacy inquiries, write to james@silvercurrentpress.com.
2. What we collect when you correspond
When you write to the press through the contact form, by email, or when you submit a manuscript or query, we receive whatever you choose to send: your name, your email address, your message, and any attached file. We retain that correspondence for as long as is needed to respond to it and to keep an orderly editorial record. We do not sell, rent, or trade this information.
3. What is collected automatically
Like every site on the open Web, the hosts that serve these pages may automatically log a visitor's IP address, browser type, referring page, and the date and time of the visit. This information is used for security and for understanding which pages are read. We do not run third-party advertising, behavioural tracking, or cross-site profiling on this site.
4. Cookies
This site uses a single first-party cookie to remember whether you prefer light or dark reading mode. The cookie holds the value light or dark and nothing else. No analytics or advertising cookies are set.
5. Email and newsletters
If you subscribe to the press's newsletter or to our Substack, your email is held by that newsletter platform under its own privacy policy. You may unsubscribe at any time from the footer of any letter we send.
6. Manuscripts and submissions
Submitted manuscripts and queries are read only by James Mulhern. They are kept confidential, are not shared with any third party, and are deleted from our records once the editorial decision has been communicated, unless the work has been accepted for publication, in which case files are retained for the duration of the publishing agreement.
7. Children
This site is not directed to children under thirteen. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your rights
If you live in a jurisdiction with statutory privacy rights — including the European Union (GDPR), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), and the State of California (CCPA / CPRA) — you may write to james@silvercurrentpress.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you. We will respond within thirty days. We do not sell personal information.
9. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS) for every page. No system, however, is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality of information transmitted over the Internet.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy is materially revised, the new effective date will appear below and, where appropriate, a notice will be posted on the home page for thirty days.
Effective and last updated: 12 May 2026.
