What a proper notice must contain
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material on this site claimed to be infringing, with enough detail (a URL is best) for us to find it.
- Your full contact information: name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
What happens next
On receipt of a notice that meets the statutory requirements, we will remove or disable access to the material expeditiously and will, where contact information is available, notify the contributor of the material. We will not provide your contact information to the contributor without your consent, except as required by law.
Counter-notification
If you believe material of yours was removed or disabled in error, you may send a counter-notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g) to the same address, including the elements required by the statute. We will pass it on, and unless we receive notice of a court action, we may restore the material in ten to fourteen business days.
Repeat infringers
It is the policy of Silver Current Press to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the access of contributors who are found to be repeat infringers of copyright.
A note for our authors
Silver Current Press believes copyright should be defended, plainly and at once, when it is infringed. If you are an author published by the press and you find your work pirated on a third-party site, please write to us. We will issue takedown notices on your behalf as part of our continuing care for our titles.
